...afterworld...beforeworld...
Before our world was, there was something else. There was a different order to reality, a different view of the world. There was more than one world, and at the same time, there was only one. The realms of spirit and matter were conjoined, and death was a change in life rather than an end. Ancestors would watch over their descendants hundreds of years later, and gods and their worshippers spoke to each other face-to-face. The unseen was a chosen state of being rather than a separation from the material.
Our world, like the one before it, is destined to fall to oblivion, letting a new reality take shape. One very much like our own, and yet very much like the reality of old. The possibility exists that the world of old is the world before yours. It is a world not a slave to time and distance, to space and order, but rather a world of infinite change and possibility.
Before our world was, it had already been.
This journal is for the building of a world consisting of pockets of tenuous order in a sea of shifting possibility-chaos. When relatively complete, it will be either an RPG setting or a novel setting - or perhaps both. We'll see what happens when it's fleshed out.
